Telugu Desam Party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu was in IIIT, Basara to address a gathering as part of Vastunna Mee Kosam Padayatra. Although Naidu announced to make his Party's stand on Telangana during the All Party Meeting, students repeatedly forced him to answer on Telangana issue.

Reiterating that he never spoke against Telangana, the TDP chief also claimed that it was at his instance Centre is convening an All Party Meeting on the issue. However, Naidu was annoyed avoiding a direct answer to a IIIT student when the student appealed him to take a favorable stance.  

Earlier, while holding tele-conference with party leaders, Naidu advised party colleagues to avoid statements on issue until Centre finalises the modalities for the meeting.

"YSR Congress would merge with Congress after the latter withdraws criminal cases against YS Jagamohan Reddy. Then Telangana Rashtra Samithi too waiting for an opportunity to merge with the Congress party," TDP chief predicted.  Earlier, Naidu performed special pooja in the Saraswati Temple at Basara.
