Bollywood star hero Salman Khan's hit and run accident case of 2002 in Bandra is still pending in court. Salman Khan rammed his Cruiser into a bakery in suburban Bandra on Sep 28, 2002. Former IPS officer YP Singh and his wife Abha have alleged that Mumbai Police are saving Salman Khan by derailing the trial process in court. While similar cases related to Alistair Pereira and Nooriya Haveliwala are solved by Courts and Police in two years, the delay in Salman Khan's case has exceeded almost 11 years.

"Police did not serve notices to the witnesses. Of the 34 persons who were involved with the case, 24 did not receive any summons and 12 were out of station on the day of attending the court. Police could not trace any of them even by phone. This is complete negligence. Salman was absent by 82 times whenever the case came for hearing and public prosecutor has also ignored the case," YP Singh lashed out at police.
