Talks are being held for a long time to remake the super hit Hindi film Kahaani which had Vidhya Balan in the lead role. Anushka who saw this film has agreed to act in the remake version of Kahaani which had Vidhya Balan in the pregnant lady role. 

The popular director Sekhar Kammula will be directing the Tamil and Telugu remake versions.

In Telugu Anushka is donning a role like in Arundhathi in a film titled Rani Rudrama Devi. The film Damarukam in which she has paired with Nagarjuna is waiting for release. The release of this film has been delayed because of some financial crisis.
